Murulla railway accident
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Murulla railway accident involved the collision of the Up Northwest Mail train with runaway goods wagons near Murulla in the Upper Hunter Valley on 13 September 1926. 26 were killed, so that this was the worst accident on the NSWR until the Granville railway disaster of 1977.
Note that the "Up" direction is towards the capital city of Sydney.
