Murray (bicycles)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company was founded in 1919 to make fenders, gas tanks, and other car parts.[1] The company was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, but later moved to Brentwood, Tennessee.[2] Murray was a well-known American manufacturer of low-cost bicycles. Murray bicycles featured one-piece steel cranksets and welded steel tubing characteristic of low priced American utility bicycles, and were commonly sold in department stores and discount chains such as Target, K-Mart and Wal-Mart rather than bicycle shops.
