Muriel Barbery, born in 1969 in Casablanca, Morocco, is a novelist and a professor of philosophy.

Muriel Barbery, a former student at the École Normale Supérieure, he teaches at the IUFM.

Her novel L'Élégance du hérisson is the editorial surprise of the year 2006: it has indeed undergone 50 reprints and has sold 600,000 copies[1], topping the sales thirty weeks in a row[2]. This novel won numerous awards.
