Murickassery

Murickassery is a major market and educational centres in the Idukki district of Kerala state, south India. This small village of migrant farmers and native tribes has been developing as an important town centres of Idukki. Various spice products provide life blood for this village and market. Murickassery is well conneted with all parts of highranges. Murickassey serve as a connecting point of various major highrange roads inculidng Adimali-Munnar road, Thopramkudy-Kattappana and Thopramkudy-Nedumkandam and Muricakssery-Karaimban and Murickassery-Thekkinthadu road. It is 12 km away from the Disctrict capital called Painavu. People of the region consider Murickassery a centre of education which is affordable to them. Pavanatma college is the backbone of this small centre of education. St Mary's Higher Seconday school has been enlightned two generation of students. Now they live in the various parts of the world but remember their school and teachers. This was also a place for private tutorial colleges and tution centres. Unemployed youths found bread from these small educational institution. We, the people of the region respect them and salute them. Lower middle class farmers of Muricakssery and nearby villages including Thoprumkudy, Padamugham, Mannathara, Rajamudi, Pathinaramkandam, Poomamkandam, Kambilikandam, Melechinnar etc find a better place for School and College education in Murickassery.

There is a multispeciality missionary hospital named Alphonsa Hospital in Murickassery. They have the legacy of serving people with love and care. Poor people of the region found this hospital a place of refuge. And a famous collage named Pavanatma.

Murickassery is situated in Vathikkudy Grama Panchayath.
