Murder of George Duncan

George Duncan, a law lecturer at the University of Adelaide, was murdered on May 10, 1972 after being thrown into the River Torrens at the age of 42. His murder was significant because it led to South Australia becoming the first State to decriminalise homosexuality.[1]
