  • Murder, Inc. was the name bestowed on a B-17 by its crew during World War 2. When this B-17 was shot down, photographs of the captured crew showing the lettering MURDER INC. boldly displayed on the crews' A-2 bomber jackets were made public. This was at the request of Joseph Goebbels whose publicity machine took full advantage this photo-op, depicting Allied bomber crews as Terrorflieger, or "terror fliers".
