[edit] Read Wikipedia:Logos

Read Wikipedia:Logos before deleting images again. Those images you have deleted are political parties logos, that's why you should read Wikipedia:Logos, before deleting. I'm thinking about report this because it will be a conflict (besides, you should disscus the changes with the editors, not impose your criteria). Omar.

  • I am not imposing my criteria. I am supporting Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia:Logos is a guideline not a policy. Second, that guideline refers directly to the fair use guidelines, which contain the policy regarding the use of fair use images. In particular, Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9 (which is transcluded to the fair use guidelines) forbids the use of fair use images outside of the main article namespace. This is policy. The use of these images in the manner in which you want to use them is not permitted. Furthermore, even if this were a mainspace article, it would be proper to remove the images as they serve a decorative use rather than an informational one; the test here being can the image be replaced with text that conveys the same information. The answer is an emphatic yes; all you need do is add the party name. You don't need the logo to do this. The use of these logos in this manner thus violates at least two of our policies. I am removing the images again. Please do not re-add them, as the use of them in this manner is a violation of policy. If you have questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. • You're misunderstanding Wikipedia policy. It's a shame. Maybe i'll have to denounce this. --Omar1976 20:08, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
      • I'm sorry, but the policy is clear. We do not permit the use of fair use images on templates. If you persist in reverting this, I'll seek wider attention at WP:AN/I. --Durin 16:37, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
