Ummm, why does this article even exist? It's sole content is "he was murdered". I don't think the wiki is an obituary. Maury 18:52, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

it's not impossible he might have been notable outside it within the academic community. I didn't doa check on that. Circeus 21:28, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Google Scholar has given me about 3 papers as citations, none of which date after 1995. Furthermore, there's another MC Puri who is a biological chemist, so if this article stays, it needs to be disambiguated. So, basically, this falls under the category of obituary and really should be speedied. MSJapan 15:44, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
His biography is much more fleshed out now. I think it was a good idea to keep this article. I'm leery of the apocryphal story near the bottom though. Do we have a reference that he indeed spoke these words or performed this action? -- KarlHallowell 01:16, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
