Munster Junior Club Football Championship was first played officially in 2003 when Annascaul from Kerry and Carbery Rangers from Cork played each other. An unofficial championship had taken place in the previous year. The winners of each county Junior Championship play each other and the winners go on to the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship.
