Munesuke Mita

Munesuke Mita (見田宗介 Mita Munesuke?, b. Tokyo, 24 August 1937) is a Japanese sociologist. After graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1960 he entered that university's graduate school where he completed the coursework for a doctorate.
Under his own name and with the pseudonym Yūsuke Maki (真木悠介, Maki Yūsuke), Mita has published a large amount of material. His numerous books are mostly sociological but include one on Kenji Miyazawa. One collection of articles (not corresponding to any one of Mita's books in Japanese) is published in English translation as Social Psychology of Modern Japan.
One of his sons is the mangaka Ryūsuke Mita, creator of Dragon Half.
