Image talk:Munch vampire.jpg

Is this image in the public domain? Another place on wikipedia it is NOT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:%27Vampire%27%2C_an_oil_on_canvas_painting_by_Edvard_Munch%2C_1894%2C_private_collection.jpg Megify 20:23, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I have deleted that other image as being redundant. It is in the public domain in the United States, but it is NOT in the public domain worldwide until 2014 (70 years after the authors death). According to this, WORKS PUBLISHED OUTSIDE THE US before 1 July 1909 are in the Public domain in the US only. Also, this image is in the public domain for countries that have a authors life +50 years clause. Therefore, the image is appropriate on the English Wikipedia, but cannot be moved to commons for another 7 years. Hope this clears things up.-Andrew c [talk] 21:02, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
If this piece is PD-US and tagged as such, why are we considering deleting it? --sparkitTALK 01:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
