User talk:MultimediaGuru

Dear "Multimedia Guru": I've reluctantly reverted out your recent additions (Circle of Friends, etc.) to the Social Networks page. For two reasons:

1. As discussed previously on the Social Network talk page, the notability of your claims should be much better documented.

Bishop, J. (2002). Development and Evaluation of a Virtual Community. BSc(Hons) Dissertation. Available online at: http://www.jonathanbishop.com/publications/display.aspx?Item=1
Weng, M. (2007). A Multimedia Social-Networking Community for Mobile Devices. Unpublished Thesis. Interactive Telecommunications Program, Tisch School of the Arts/ New York University

2. Even if you can document them, I believe that you are putting the claims on the wrong page. This page is about "Social Networks" as a concept and analytic model, and not about "Social Networking". There is really room here only for a short key history, or else the article is out of balance. However, there is a separate page about "Social Networking Services" where your claims, if documented, might fit better.

Don't be daft - The Social Networking page redirects to the Social Networks page. This content was on the page long before you took it off, so I hope you will be observing the three-revert rule on your edits. --MultimediaGuru 15:37, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
