Real Name: Adam Mulvihill
Viewed by almost everyone as a hero this adonis of a man first graced the earth on the 22nd day of the month of July in the year 1985.
Many people claim that the scientist, researcher and physician Thomas Young is in danger of losing his title as "the last man to know everything" whenever Adam Mulvihill passes.
Not only is it claimed that Adam, or Mulvil, knows everything it is also often recited that he notices everything too.
An avid Liverpool FC supporter he often takes time out of his day to relive the glorious splendor of the 25th of may 2005. Adam Mulvihill also enjoys the magnificantly funny South Park and considers the film of it to be possibly the best animated film of all time. Family guy is also another animated classic that this man enjoys
Adam is an ex-Ireland international in Rugby, Soccer and Cricket, and has also represented Ireland in Swimming and at the under-10's egg and spoon event in 1992.
The under-10's egg and spoon race of 1992 will long be remember as the day the sport died with an up and coming spooner in Adam Mulvihill losing in controversial fashion after a spoon on the track made him tumble to the ground, his egg ended up in the main stand where it tragically made a mess of one spectators clothes. After this Adam vowed to quite the hectic world of egg and spoon and so at the age of seven started concentration on other sports. The gold on that day went to an Italian competitor who soon afterwards feel from grace and became addicted to cocaine.
Adam's soccer career was short lived as only 18 months after signing professional papers for Liverpool FC at the age of 14 he was forced into early retirement by FIFA who ruled his very part-taking in a match gave his side an unfair advantage. This did not stop him being of great service to club and country during those illustrious 18 months when he played 78 club matches and scored 52 goals from his position at left back. He did however struggle more with the international side and only amassed 4 goals in his 8 appearances. Neither team lost or drew any match that "Mulvil"(as christined by the KOP) played in.
Again his rugby career was also short lived by this was due to early retirement that Adam took due to a lack of competitiveness. He only played for the duration of 1 six nations championship, in which Ireland achieved a triple crown.
Adam was not as blessed at cricket and despite finding himself in the Irish set-up at just 17 he was unable to turn around the fortunes of the team, he quit cricket in 2001 at the age of 19 after pleas from FINA to take to the pool due to the arising dominance by the Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe.
It wasn't until 2004 that Adam Mulvihill and Ian Thorpe finally faced each other in the pool, and with the added spectacle of American newcomer Michael Phelps, the flying Dutchman Pieter Van den Hoogenband, Australian swimming legend Grant Hackett and fancied outsider Klete Keller the mens 200 meter freestyle race was bound to be the defining moment of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. It was Mulvihill that took the honours in a hard fought race with a time of 1min 42.70 secs, an astonishing full two seconds ahead of second placed Thorpe with Van den Hoogenband finishing off the podium places. Due to Cian O Conner's disqualification in the equestrian events this proved to be Irelands only medal of the games.
The World now waits with baited breath to see if Adam will defend his crown at the 2008 olympics or if the race will be between Phelps and Van den Hoogenband.
Adam is also tipped to represent Ireland at the next Eurovision, if he can be bothered.
At the tender age of just 21 there is a lot more to come from Adam Mulvihill and it will be interesting to see what other sports he might take to.
