Talk:Multiprotocol instant messaging application
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
article steers reader towards using trillian client without comparing other clients... some of that information should just remain on the trillian page and focus this article on multiprotocol general features
- I agree, it talks too much about Trillian and mentions unnescesary things that dont have much todo with multiprotocol IM. Also, do we really need an article for Multiprotocol IMing?
- Not sure about the need, but agree with the bias towards Trillian. I've reorganised the article to place Trillian on the same level as all the others. Greenman 21:30, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
There are multi-protocol P2P clients, etc too. Maybe we should have one article for "multiprotocol application" if even that. -- Frap 21:48, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

- I disagree that theres no need for the article. It's quite informative for me. But maybe it should include some other multi-protocol software, or merge with articles on that subject if they exist. Biblbroks 18:57, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

What in the world is Milkbone? There is no supporting evidence that I can find of it's existence. - Deron Dantzler 14:28, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I was able to find it on SourceForge but it has to be one of the worst peices of software I've ever seen. Sure it's personal opinion, but still I'm not certain that it belongs listed here in the major scope of things unless the article is expanded to include many more awful multi-clients. - Deron Dantzler 14:35, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I made a major edit for clarity and style. One of the things I did was attempt to make the final rambling paragraph regarding Jabber transports appear more relevant. However, it should still be tightened up, or replaced with an appropriate "See also" link to something which can explain Jabber transports.
Meebo probably deserves mention (as a web server which is a multiprotocol IM client), at least as a "see also". — RVJ 20:13, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Protocol support
The table for protocol support is needed in two pages:
Can you make a template of it and change both pages accordingly? Thank you 91.35.185.115 15:38, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- I will do my very best to get an expert coder on that project! Cheers! Ariel♥Gold 16:10, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
As I am not the correct person to complete this (I currently do not have a sufficient knowledge of tables here on Wikipedia) I am hoping someone here may be able to honor the request by the poster to my page. (I have also posted this on the Comparison's talk page, and WikiProject Computing, as advised by the Admin that I went to for advice.) Thank you! Ariel♥Gold 11:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure which exact version it is but Lotus Sametime does no longer support aim. Last known version to support was around Sametime 3 and currently Sametime 8.1 was just released. Just fyi 12.96.65.83 (talk) 21:14, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
