[edit] Edited "Cultivation and Uses" section
I added the "Unsourced Section" banner to the top of this section and removed the following paragraphs:
- Herbalists recommend mullein leaves as one of the safest and most useful herbal lung tonics. The leaves have an expectorant and soothing action on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. Take mullein for easing the symptoms of asthma, chronic bronchitis, dry coughs, and laryngitis.
- Mullein is also a useful lymphatic cleanser, and you may find it effective for helping to relieve skin problems like psoriasis.
- Use the flower oil in your ears for inflammation, earaches, and infections of the Eustachian tubes, inner ear, and ear canal. See your doctor or herbalist if you have an ear infection.
I removed these paragraphs for several reasons, but the main two reasons were what I saw as violations of the following two style guidelines: Avoid second-person pronouns and Avoid instructional and presumptuous language.
I left in the two paragraphs that preceded the text above because the title of the section calls for such information, and those paragraphs did't seem to me to violate the guidelines quite as flagrantly. They do, however, need citation. —CKA3KA (Skazka) (talk) 00:25, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
