Intel launched a Dance competition throughout the Klang Valley not just to promote stardom of dancing, but also to promote the Core2Duo processor's abilities to multi-task. The period lasted from 13th April till 22nd June 2007 and was themed Multiply My Life.
The auditions took places in the following venues:
- - PC Fair's Intel Booth - 13th till 15th April 2007
- - KDU College(Kolej Damansara Utama) - 24th till 25th April 2007
- - The Curve's Centre Court - 8th and 10th of June 2007.
At the venue, each participant dances on a stage, with green background and recorded by a digital video camera. The recording is then transferred into a computer, using a multimedia program to edit the outcome and then burned into a CD for the participants. The video was also uploaded onto Hitz.fm website for voting.
[edit] Grand Finals Party
Of each and every venues done, votings were done on-line to determine which two finalists from each venue will compete in the Grand Finals Party, at Maison in Kuala Lumpur on the 22nd June 2007. Invites were given to all finalists, participants and their friends. Amongst some of the Malaysian celebrities present were host Joey G and tap-dancer Jojo Struys. After the six finalists performed, there was even a shuffling competition opened to those present. 10 contestants were picked and the shuffling contest started. The winner was awarded a RM100 rebate voucher of Intel products.
[edit] The Winner: Chee Choon Fei
Finally, a the judges made their unanimous vote and decided that Chee Choon Fei was the winner, with his "breakdance-made-easy" moves (as commented by the judges). He was rewarded a trip for 4 persons to Koh Phangan, Thailand and a notebook with Intel Core2Duo Processor. After the prize-giving ceremony, Maison opened its dancefloor all-night-long to all those present without any single charge.
