Multimedia Engieering Society Overseas Research Program (MESCORP) is an undergraduate-based research work which involves a field study initiated by Multimedia University's engineering students. MESCORP addresses the dire need of qualified IT-knowledgeable engineers in Malaysia by supplementing soft skills such as initiative, creative, innovative qualities to the technical skills acquired through practical applications of theories in laboratory experiments.

In year 2002, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering (FOE), Engr. Professor Dato' Dr. Chuah Hean Teik, under the patronage of the Chancellor YABhg. Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Hj. Mohammad Ali, founded the Multimedia University Engineering Society Overseas Research Programme (MESCORP).

Ever since 2002, MESCORP have researched and published journals regarding the topics concerned and had organized annual conferences to disseminate their findings to the public. MESCORP's track record since its inception are as follows:

[edit] MESCORP 2007/2008
Following the success of previous MESCORP teams, MESCORP 2007/2008 has proposed to research on the topic "From MEGAWATTS to NEGAWATTS: Encountering Energy Issues In Malaysia. There are two main areas of interest in the research, which is the development of alternative energy and the energy efficiency and conservation measures. The selection of the topic is based on the need to sustain energy and find efficient ways to counter global warming.
MESCORP 2007/2008 was formed on August 2007. The research is more of a comparative analysis between the Energy Industry in Malaysia, Australia and neighbours Thailand. The team is expected to visit Thailand on January 2008, and Australia on May 2008. The MESCORP 2007/2008 conference is going to be held on July 2008 where the team will present their findings to the public.
