Multimap.com, a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft, is a United Kingdom based provider of mapping and location-based services. The company provides both a public web site and business services.
Multimap.com offers street-level maps of the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States; road maps of the world; door-to-door travel directions; aerial photographs; and local information. Multimap also provides a range of complementary services through its partners. These include entertainment, hotel, holiday-cottage, restaurant and train-ticket booking services, SMS weather alerts and the ability to buy both historic and aerial photograph prints. In 2004 the public web site regularly delivered more than 160 million page views per month and received more than 7.3 million unique users per quarter.
Multimap.com also provides mapping services to business web sites. These include mapping, proximity searching, routing, aerial images, local information, and weather.
Multimap.com uses the Geo microformat on its map pages.
In December 2007, Multimap.com was bought by Microsoft for around £25 million[1].
