Multi-sport arenas (2012 Olympics)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Three multi-sport arenas will be built in the Olympic Park in Stratford for the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games, where they will host the fencing, handball, and basketball events, and the fencing and shooting disciplines of the Modern Pentathlon events. All of the arenas will have a capacity of 20,000.
London's successful bid proposed that there would be four arenas in the Olympic Park, but the revised masterplan published in 2006 reduced this to three, with the volleyball being moved to Earls Court Exhibition Centre.[1]
After the 2012 Olympics, one of the arenas will remain and two other arenas will be relocated to other parts of the UK.
