[edit] Motor racing
Mulsanne is the famous straightaway on the Circuit de la Sarthe that is used in the sports car endurance race 24 Hours of Le Mans. Originally a 5 km (3.1 mi) straight, it was reduced into 3 sections with two chicanes to reduce the dangerous 250 mph (400 km/h) speeds for the 1990 endurance race.
The actual name of the straight is the Hunaudieres however it runs along the little village of Mulsanne and is commonly known as the Mulsanne Straight.
