Muirhead
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Muirhead is a small town situated about 7 miles to the North-East of Glasgow. Nearby villages and towns include Chryston, Stepps, Lenzie and Gartcosh.
It is a commuter town to Glasgow with good road links with the A80/M80 and a frequent bus service (no.36). It is about a two mile drive to Stepps, Lenzie and Gartcosh train stations which all have plenty of free parking available.
The town has a variety of shops including a Co-op, newsagents, butcher and plenty of take-away food shops. Two bars which serve the area are the Muirhead Inn and The Crowood the later recently being refurbished and now caters more for meals.
A local development to the south of the village is Belhaven Park which in recent years has been overrun with unruly children which is why a lot of properties in the estate are currently for sale.
