Muiredach Muinderg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Muiredach Muinderg mac Forgo (d.489)[1] was a king of Ulaid from the Dal Fiatach. He was the son of Forga mac Dalláin.[2]. Nothing is recorded of him in the annals other than his death date. The Book of Leinster gives him a reign of 24 years giving a possible reign of 465-489. His sobriquet means red-necked.
According to the Laud Genealogies, he received the blessing of Saint Patrick. Five sons of Muiredach are mentioned including Eochaid mac Muiredaig Muinderg (d.509) and Cairell mac Muiredaig Muinderg (d.532), both kings of Ulaid.
