KEEP. I think this discussion may well have been influenced by systemic bias. The population of the Sylhet Division is greater than that of Arizona or Greater London, and I'm sure an article on the 12-year leader of one of the main polical parties in those places would be accepted under WP:N. References have now been provided. Phil Bridger 13:53, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

KEEP. as per Phil Bridger; seems notable, is referenced Noroton 21:38, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

COMMENT. think this one needs more expert input. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is one of the two major parties in Bangladesh. Sylhet Division is one of the six Divisions of Bangladesh. So to be President of the Sylhet branch of the BNP could well be notable? Let's be careful not to allow systemic bias to delete someone who wouldn't be deleted if he was a Westerner. --Stormie 05:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

COMMENT. i think its ok now

Your source confirms that he exists, but not that he is notable. Has anyone ever written a whole article about him and his achievements? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:29, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi..I am Sylhety. I read couple of articles about him on various Bengali newspapers and magazines. But I am not quite sure whether or not they are on internet. Yes, he is one of the successful politicians businessman of Sylhet and is very renowned for his charitable activities. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.140.18.147 (talk) 10:09, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

(fisherQueen) i do not know he is notable or not, but i do know he is indeed distinguish among all thoes corrupted politicians (no offence). and my opinion is wikipedia should promote thoes people who are able to set an example for the young people of certain locality. i do think this person could meet the criteria, atleast for sylhet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.12.250.230 (talk) 12:26, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but none of what you just said was a reference. The only thing this article needs is references to reliable sources that will verify that this person is notable. If you want to write about non-notable people who you think are good role models, Wikipedia isn't the right place to do that. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:30, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Bengali newspapers are acceptable as references, if they can be cited. → AA (talk) — 12:47, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

despite being the fact (notable) a subjective matter, i think it (reff) will provide some remedy.. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.12.250.215 (talk) 12:12, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

well, it may not be deleted. but it does need some more editing(grammer check and so on). 90.192.252.213 22:56, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
