Muhammet Akagündüz, nicknamed Aka, (born 11 January 1978, in Bingöl, Turkey) is an Austrian footballer of Turkish descent currently playing as a striker for SV Ried.

Akagündüz moved with his family to Austria in 1987 and he gained Austrian citizenship 3 years later. He excelled at school and enrolled on a medical education course while starting his football career.

His career has seen him play for FK Austria Wien, Gerasdorf, St. Pölten, VfB Admira Wacker Mödling, SV Ried, Malatyaspor, Konyaspor, Rapid Wien, Kayserispor and Hellas Verona.

Akagündüz has also played 10 times for the Austrian national team, having decided to represent his naturalised country rather than that of his birth. He was however overlooked for EURO 2008.
