Muhammad Javed Ikhlas

Raja Mohammad Javed Ikhlas (October 5, 1955) was born in Gujar Khan. He is the Nazim Mayor of Rawalpindi since 2005. He has also served as District Naib Nazim from 2001 to 2005. He is an active civil servant for 15 years since 1985, he served as a member of the Provincial Assembly in Punjab. He was a member of the Public Accounts Committee (Punjab) in 1996 to 1999, a Parliamentary Secretary of Housing and Physical Planning Department in 1990-1993, a Parliamentary Secretary of Forest Wild Life, Fisheries and Tourism Departments in 19881990, and a member of the Rawalpindi District Council in 1983 to 1991.
He was the official delegate in the loan negotiations for Rawalpindi Environmental Improvement Project at Asian Development Bank Headquarters in the Philippines in 2004-2005, a member of the delegation of Punjab Assembly visiting UK in 1993, and a member of the National Defence College visiting China in 2005. He received the National Defence College Award for his course in the National Defence College in China, and training of newly elected District Nazims of Punjab in 2005 at Management and Professional Department in Lahore.
