Mughalsarai is a city and a municipal board in Chandauli district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

As of 2001 India census[1], Mughalsarai had a population of 88,386. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mughalsarai has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 55%.
