Talk:Mueslix
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The opening usage of Müeslix seems non-standard - the umlaut mark over the 'u' is replaced with a following 'e' when using typeface that does not support that diacritical mark. They are not generally used together. I would just edit the page to make the correction, but it's a trademark, and they may have just trademarked it wrong.... 69.14.36.255 07:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Your observation is true for Standard German, not however, for Swiss German. In Swiss German a 'Mues' is literally translated a mush. 'Müesli' is the small version of a Mues. So you just add a 'li' at the end of the word and it automatically describes the small version thereof. If there is an a, u, or o in the base word, it will have to be changed into an Umlaut, that is ä, ü, or ö. That is why it is Müesli and not Muesli. Hope my description makes sense.
