[edit] Help me

Hello, I noticed this had been cleared out, but just in case you still need help:

When creating an article with a special character, how do you name the page? I am referring to an underscore

Hello, Mudpoet. According to our naming conventions, special characters should generally be avoided when they don't provide any extra meaning to the title. For example, trademarks using an underscore should probably exclude them, and the article itself should use the underscored name at most once, using standard punctuation at all other times. For more information, see WP:NAME and MOS:TRADE. Out of curiosity, what article are we referring to? Hersfold (t/a/c) 19:29, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually Mudpoet is referring to underscores in the article name; as far as I know, the underscore in the name is automatically parsed to a space. For the underscore to be visible in the title, you'll have to use {{underscore}}. (example ) - TwoOars (Rev) 19:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Twooars is correct. That is exactly what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, the template "underscore" doesn't exist in MY wiki. I've got a wiki set up on my site and need to use the same functionality, but it isn't there. I created the Template:Underscore exactly as it is on Wikipedia, but it looks like it may be missing some dependency templates because it isn't working...

[edit] Hey thar friend

This is nutella from the BS boards. Welcome to Wkipedia... enjoy it and don't get caught up in the ridiculous beaucracy and nitpicky rules of it all. That is the only thing I don't like about this place... all the rules. м info (talk) 21:57, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
