Hi, Wikipedia is a general-purpose encyclopedia, so what is there about the company that would make this article of interest to a reader in Pretoria (or even Peoria)? Because many companies start articles, some guidelines have been drawn up at WP:CORP - does MUD Coffee fit into them? Wikipedia is not free advertising space, so there needs to be a relatively simple way of deleting such articles - that's the {{prod}} tag you came across. Many editors of such article have a hit and run approach, they register, create one advertisement and disappear forever - the prod tag then does its work and the article gets deleted. You've passed that particular hurdle by staying round long enough to object to the tag. Have a look at WP:CORP and WP:NOT and good luck with improving the article and your other future contributions! P.S. You might find Kalendar Koffee House Company (currently on AfD) interesting. Dlyons493 Talk 13:38, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks w/ the help polishing the piece's format. If I may answer your first question w/ a question: by the same token, what would make an article about, say, starbucks coffee of interest to someone in Pretoria or Peoria (like those P countries, huh?). While I'm not certain, I doubt either country has even a single starbucks. On the other, Manhatten has well over a million residents, plus at least as many daily communters, isn't it a possibility some of them might be curious about an East Village fixture that's slowly but surely becoming a local institution, much like H&H Bagels is? 3-30-06, 16:21 EST Just.enough.luck 21:24, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Peoria , Illinois, total population of 112,936. They must have a Starbucks - if not, there's there's a market niche for you and I don't even charge consultancy :-) Dlyons493 Talk
