Coordinates: Mudigere is a panchayat town in Chikmagalur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Poorna Chandra Tejaswi, the well known Kannada writer had settled in this town till his death here in 2007.

As of 2001 India census[2], Mudigere had a population of 8962. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Mudigere has an average literacy rate of 82%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 85%, and female literacy is 79%. In Mudigere, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
