Mud (TV series)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mud was a 1994 CBBC television show, best known for featuring early appearances from Russell Brand, Brooke Kinsella, Russell Tovey and a teddy bear called, incongruously, 'Steve'. In the story, a group of children went back in time and interacted with various historical figures (who were often shown as living in dirt, much like the filthy peasants in the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, hence the series' title). When they returned to the present, the children realised that they had inadvertently changed the course of time, and the present was significantly different from how they had left it -- most shockingly, they realised they had stopped America from being discovered by Europeans, and consequently there was no such thing as television. The series concerned their plucky attempts to rectify their time-travelling mistakes.
