[edit] BIO
Muck and the Mires band began as a studio project by Evan Shore (Muck) and, following the release of his demos in 2001 ( All Mucked Up AMP Records, Canada), a band was assembled with each member stepping into the fictitious pseudonyms listed on the original record jacket.
One of the band's early shows was opening for a rare live appearance by the late Mike Smith, lead singer of The Dave Clark 5 at the Regent Theatre in Arlington MA, just outside of Boston.
In 2004, the group released it's first proper release, "Beginner's Muck" again on the AMP record label. That same year, the group was featured on MTV when they became the co-winners of Little Steven's Underground Garage Battle of the Bands. Other 2004 highlights include an appearance at the Las Vegas Rockaround (North Americas largest Garage Rock event) and their first European tour.
In 2006 Dionysus Records (Hollywood, CA) and Soundflat Records (Cologne, Germany) released the album "1-2-3-4." The CD makes it to the number one position on college radio giant WMBR, Cambridge, MA. The group embarked on a 7-country tour to support the album. While in Liverpool England for a show at the legendary Cavern Club, the group arranges a meeting with former Beatles manager Allan Williams, aka "the man who gave The Beatles away". Mr. Williams declined the band's offer of a management position.
In late 2007, the band began recording an album with rock legend Kim Fowley and Maria Baglien at Lo Fi Studios in Loma Linda, CA. These recording sessions were originally supposed to take place in Scotland, but heavy rain destroyed the recording studio where the sessions were booked.
In 2008, Dirty Water Records (London, England) released the four song EP "Doreen" featuring four of the tracks from the Kim Fowley recordings.
Muck and the Mires have toured internationally, playing shows in Austria, Canada, England, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Switzerland and the United States. They have shared billing with The MC5, Bay City Rollers, The Strokes, Mooney Suzuki, Dick Dale, Pete Best (of The Beatles), Detroit Cobras and many more.
