Talk:Mu (rocket)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Under a proposal to clean up inconsistent disambiguation of rocket article titles, this article, Mu (rocket), may be moved to Mu rocket. At this stage, it is only a proposal at an early stage of discussion, but you are encouraged to contribute to the discussion, which is located here. |
The article doesn't match with History of Japan Space Research. I'm not very knowledgeable of the history and nomenclature of ISAS rockets, so I'll just put memorandum here.
- The Article says Mu-1, when it should be L-4S. But the first of the L (Lambda) series rocket (L-3-1) was launched to suborbit in 1964.
- The Article says In 1971 (after a launch failure in 1970) the first Japanese satellite was launched with the four-stage M-4S rocket. Whereas the first Japanese satellite Ohsumi was launched in 1970 by L-4S-5.
- First satellite launched by Mu rocket (Mu-4S-2) was Tansei in 1971, after a failure of Mu-4S-1 in 1970.
