Mu Tauri (μ Tau / μ Tauri) is a star in the constellation Taurus. One proper name the Indians use for this star is Kattupothu, meaning "Untamable Bull" or "Wild Bovine" in Malayalam, as the people of Southern India compare Taurus the Bull (Vrishabha) to the native wild, untamed oxen.
Mu Tauri is a blue-white B-type subgiant with an apparent magnitude of +4.27. It is approximately 435 light years from Earth.
