MTV Latvija is a regional diversification of MTV which started airing on September 4, 2006 at 22:00 EET. The first video was Justice vs. Simian - We Are Your Friends.

MTV Latvija is part of a new MTV project known as MTV Networks Baltic which also includes MTV Eesti and MTV Lietuva. The channel plans to combine local and international music, as well as MTV's trademark shows such as Pimp My Ride, Celebrity Deathmatch, The Andy Milonakis Show, and Wildboyz which will be shown with subtitles in Latvian. It is also showing the new Lithuanian made show Baltish with Latvian subtitles.
