[edit] The template
I've added other stations now and i am constantly looking for ways to improve this Simply south 20:53, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Just to say, i wasn't intentionally basing it solely on the Merseyrail lines. I was just covering city centre stations, junctions etc etc etc. Simply south 21:12, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
See Template talk:Merseyside major railway stations for reply. Btw, are you going to apply it to your other Merseyrail template, just wondering ? Simply south 18:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] UK stations box
Hi, you've been replacing the UK stations box on loads of Merseyrail station articles with the northern line box. Whilst the northern merseyrail box is a good thing the UK stations box is still very much valid, merseyrail is still part of the British rail network, ie covered by National Rail and maintained by Network Rail and the UK stations box/list includes stations on all networks including (eventually) Northern Ireland railways and heritage railways so these articles should still have it. By all means add more boxes to the articles but please don't remove the UK stations box whilst doing it. --Achmelvic 22:23, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Railways
Hi Mtpt. I see you are are now a participant in the above. I joined some few week back, since I had long discovered the terrible mess that the categorising of railways in UK had achieved. Hence the long list of them! I then awaited some further feedback in the hope that we could move on towards sorting it out. Nothing happened, in spite of several messages left with User:Achmelvic, who declares himself as the "starter" of the project. I am wondering if it has all become too much - I wouldn't be surprised! [edit] Template:London stations
Hi, Just saw your edit to the London stations infobox which I think is an excellent idea. May I suggest that the list should be limited to just the London area National Rail stations, tube stations and DLR stations which are included on List of London railway stations and List of London Underground stations. This would make the list more relevant to the general subject matter of the article that contains the infobox and would be a more useful search tool for a reader looking at a one London station to find another. Using your lead, I have prepared a draft for comment in my sandbox. I have also put a note on the discussion page for the template. DavidCane 00:37, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi again, I have made a revision to the proposed template in my [User:DavidCane/sandbox|sandbox]] to incorporate the full National Rail list although it is getting a bit cumbersome. If the discussions regarding combining all of the station templates that you pointed me to decides that that is the way to go, perhaps the London station specific lists can be optional and be controlled by a "flag" to be shown only when needed. [edit] The big one
Not yet implemented etc. There are templates of stations in other cities. I thought i would have a go and create a template covering all London railway stations. After much sorting i have. Anyway, could you have a look at it and tell me what you think? Also, could you sort out the layout, reduce the font size etc etc etc, and generally make it look like, For example:
OR
|
?
One thing to note about my template is the SIZE of the whole template. Eeep. I know in the past i have said that size does not matter so much but even i find this template to be a big exception
See Template:London railway stations.

[edit] Hopefully not as short-lived
Or split, or merged, or deleted etc.
Me and my rail templates.
I have created one that is not large in size. It incoporates 3 UA, as shown in the title. It focuses on Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas.
[edit] heritage rail templates
I notice you replace all the hardcoded links box with the template in the category. The reason I changed to the hardcoded link box is that it removes the problem of Category:Heritage railways in Wales linking to itself as a sub-category...
On the other hand the center aligning text looks better, so i will do the same with the England template. Our Phellap 21:05, 25 July 2006 (UTC) Can i have your opinion etc on this?
I think i have included the relevant categories although others can be added or removed.
Template:Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire railway stations
I have not yet implemented this one. I am sure this one will work. Hopefully.

[edit] One small thing
Just to note. Sorry, but i am finding the writing in the many templates too small and hard to read. I do not want to sound bad. Otherwise, the formatting of the templates is very good.

[edit] heritage rail infobox
Good idea about infobox. Other suggestions: original gauge, preserved gauge, year of major extensions once preserved. (e.g. on the Glos-Warks. Gotherington (2000), Cheltenham (2003)).
With the heritage rail templates I have remove the category from the template and added it instead to all the articles. That prevents the categories linking to themselves. Our Phellap 22:24, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
The template is really good. The only thing I would add is the option to add more events to the preservation history, e.g. if the line has had several extensions over a few years.... Our Phellap 14:30, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
