John Havlik aka mtekk is a distance runner. He created the word mtekk, and a company/series of companies that now reside under the name Mtekk companies. Others currently use the name mtekk for their company's operating name, namely MTekk IT Services from Australia. MTekk IT services is using the name under a 'verbal agreement' with John Havlik. Today, John maintains the Breadcrumb_(navigation) Navigation XT plug-in for WordPress and is working on two other plug-ins. All three will be or are released under the GNU GPL 2.0.

John is the artist of the 'm' logo, which is copyright of John Havlik and used on all of his mtekk sites.
