[edit] Speedy deletion of Fabric structure

A tag has been placed on Fabric structure requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Just adding in here that the page that has been copied, here, indicates that "Information provided herein adapted and reprinted with permission from Fabric Architecture, a publication of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI)." Even if the website does belong to you, you will need to verify permission from Fabric Architecture to reprint this information under the license of GFDL. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:13, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I have responded to your question at my talk page, but a more complete reply is visible at the talk page for the article, Talk:Fabric structure. If you have further questions, I'll be happy to address them there. I am watching that page. --15:08, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

[edit] Speedy deletion

You need to show that the company is notable by providing reliable sources from neutral, peer-reviewed sources. See WP:CORP for what constitutes notability. Corvus cornixtalk 15:59, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

It will depend on whether what you submitted shows the company's notability. You're still violating WP:COI, which is a guideline, not a policy, but should be discussed on the article's Talk page so that others with no conflict can review the content. Corvus cornixtalk 16:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I've been following this discussion a little over the last couple days, and after taking a look at the Rubb article, which you have cited as an example of blatant advertising, I'd like to point out that although there definitely appears to be a WP:COI issue there, on the whole, the tone of the article seems to be pretty neutral, and provided some references are added, it could actually become a good example of an article about a company, IMO. [edit] Clear span structures

A tag has been placed on Clear span structures, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Clear span structures and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Corvus cornixtalk 22:40, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
