[edit] United Kingdom

Hello. I see that you added some information regarding growing atheism to the UK page. While it is not an unreasonable statement (in my own opinion), it does fall foul of expected content in Wikipedia, I'm afraid. Firstly, it could be interpreted as being point-of-view. Secondly, you do not quote any sources for it - which is a rather important thing to do. Please review your contribution in light of this. I have not reverted what you wrote as I thought I should give you an opportunity to have another look at it - however, I suspect that others will do. Thanks for your other contributions. Cheers, Parmesan 16:51, 11 July 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Leeds

Hallo: Thanks for your contribution to Leeds. When you're adding a link, like Beeston, it's worth clicking on it in "preview edit" to check that it goes to the right article. If it leads to a "disambiguation page" offering a choice of meanings, you can then follow the link which looks right (which may itself lead to a page with a different title: the "Beeston" page had a link to "Beeston, West Yorkshire" which led to "Beeston, Leeds", but I'll get back and fix it now), and once you find the page for the place you're talking about you can change the link to [[Beeston, Leeds|Beeston]] - ie first the title of the article you want to link to, then "|", then the words you want appearing in the text. I've sorted out that one (now Beeston)and a couple of others. Enjoy your editing! PamD 20:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Ashtray throwing man

A tag has been placed on Ashtray throwing man, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WebHamster 23:21, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect of Catal Station

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Catal Station, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Catal Station is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Catal Station, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Leeds United

Please do not add links to the Service Crew or a Hooligan section to the Leeds United page. Any notable hooligan events such as the destruction of the stadium in Paris in 1975 after the European Cup Final are mentioned in the clubs history. The Service Crew are in no-way affiliated with the club and as such should not have a link placed on the clubs page. I am not the only editor to revert your edits, so please refrain from re-adding this information. Chappy God's Own Country TC 18:37, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. [edit] Speedy deletion of Wetherby Athletic AFC

A tag has been placed on Wetherby Athletic AFC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Regua (talk) 14:34, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. I deleted the article because it is agreed upon by WikiProject Football that Step 7 clubs are not notable unless they have played at a higher level in the past. As this is not the case for the club, they are not deemed notable enough for an article.
A separate issue; on your user page you have a "strong dislike of the term humanism", yet you also have a userbox stating that you are a secular humanist! пﮟოьεԻ 57 20:36, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Goldenfry.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Goldenfry.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. I have nominated Classic film lines, an article you created, for deletion. Thanks for uploading Image:Wetherbyracecoursestands.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Jet2atleeds.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jet2atleeds.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? MilborneOne (talk) 18:19, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
