[edit] To Do

  • Remove specs. (keep 1 image)
  • Find more real world coverage on this mecha, references for the outside of Gundam appearances, etc.
  • Find information on design details by mechanical designer of the movie, similar to that in the RX-78 article.

[edit] Call for input

Is anyone out there who worked on this article originally? Is any of it transwiki-ed from wikipedia.jp? Kyaa the Catlord 12:48, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Templates

I have rewritten the article into a more condensed but equally effective, and more importantly, completely sourceable form. I believe this should satisfy the templates that have festooned the article since January. MalikCarr 12:46, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Also, I did -not- know there was a Sazabi Zippo until I was making a cursory Google Image search. As a collector of fine Zippos, I wonder how I could get one of those... MalikCarr 13:01, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Speaking of templates, thanks for the sidebar-type dealie. It gives the page more flow. Would you do the same for the Jagd Doga article? MalikCarr 11:06, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sourcing: Part the Second

Right, how's that all look now? Everything's lined up using inline citations and what have you. Maybe I'll upload another picture to give the article some more weight... MalikCarr 01:57, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing AMIB's content

Aside from the fact that you package it in with ruining the infobox that is currently agreed upon by consensus at WP:GUNDAM (they do this in politics all the time - try to sugarcoat an ugly bill with some nice provisions or programs), the bits about Super Robot Wars and SD Gundam Force aren't sourced. A good article has to make maximum use of inline citations, and I don't want the impetus to be put on me to find them. I'll add those parts when I'm good and ready to have sources for them. Alternatively, if you'd like to find some online reviews of SD Gundam Force or a SRW J/F/F:Final/Alpha 2 (Sazabi appears in all of them as far as I know) game guide that shows it's in there, by all means. Until then, keep unsourced content to a minimum. It looks bad.

As to the parts about the Sazabi and Nu Gundam burning up in the atmosphere, that _is_ plot summary - even I can see that much. The article as I have it set up now tries to focus exclusively on the design and appearance of the machine, and its role as the overall antagonist's battlewagon, without delving into plot details excessively, and then assert the notability of the thing with widely produced documentation and products (like Zippo lighters). I don't see any reason to say what it does in the movie. MalikCarr 08:37, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

More to the point, it's purposely left ambiguous what happens to Sazabi and Nu Gundam. Posting what happens to them when it isn't explicitly shown would be OR. Jtrainor 12:22, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

They are equally well-sourced as the entirety of the "In Char's Counterattack" section, and sourced in the same way. I could cut the Char's Counterattack section similarly, but then there'd be outcries about deletionism.
In fact, while I'm thinking about it, where IS half the stuff in that section coming from? I see lots of questionable evaluative claims or backstory bits that weren't in CCA, last time I saw it. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 14:14, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
It would be nice if someone actually bothered to say where, exactly, in the basic laundry list of sources people seem to use for these articles (the MS Encyclopedias, etc.) all this information comes from, similar to... well, the RX-78 Gundam article and other articles about significant machines and characters from the first series and other Gundam series. If some of these statements are retconned canon, it would be nice to get quotes, pages, etc. for said retcons. Right now, though, pretty much the whole article is unsourced, so it seems to me personally that the "unsourced content to a minimum" thing holds no weight. If trying to axe all the unsourced content the case (and I really don't want to see this happen, considering it's the machine used by the Big Bad/titular character of "Char's Counterattack") maybe this article should not exist. Maikeru 19:34, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
How the hell is this article unsourced? All the information contained therein can be verified by reviewing the appropriate sources and citations, all of which I have linked. There's no original research or invented information here, I assure you. MalikCarr 22:21, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I know that all the info in this is true, it's just that I think that some statements could be attributed to specific sources, especially anything added in after the fact that was not explicitly mentioned in CCA. Maikeru 03:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I suppose I could go through and make some paragraph-by-paragraph citations to the Entertainment Bible and Gundam Technical Manual #4, though that'll take a while; the former is in Japanese and out of print. A biracial friend of mine spending the summer in Japan was able to find a copy of them at that big comic convention they have in August, and I've been bugging him for translation notes. It's a pain in the ass, but it's probably the best thing we have to go off of for now. Oi, you people make me work so damn hard... MalikCarr 10:57, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
