This is the userpage of a 20-year-old Dutch computer programmer and graphic designer. I mostly read and edit computing-related articles, but I've also been working on some that are related to video games.
Why am I here? That's an easy one. I'm here because this is one of the most interesting virtual communities I've ever been in, with people putting their work before anything else, without any clear or particular reward in mind. "How is that even possible?", I asked myself. Truth be told, when one researches the world of community-based collaboration, it becomes clear that there's been a trend that's geared towards the product of the collective effort being seen as one's "reward" for some time now; this concept was certainly around long before Wikipedia came into existence, but it has popularized the idea with a much larger and diverse audience than ever before, and helped leverage the platform that makes it possible. I'm here not just because I simply use the site a lot (as a reader), I'm also interested in helping out by making it possible for people to read articles about topics that interest me, to share with them the knowledge I feel is important to me.
