[edit] Fair-use rationale for The Marvel Superheroes

Though this title card from the segment of a television series is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It illustrates an educational article about the series
  2. The image is historically significant
  3. The use of the still-image title card will not affect the value of the original animated series nor limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original.
  4. It is a low-resolution
  5. The image is only a small, still portion of a long series of animated segments
  6. It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value.
