[edit] Unspecified source for Image:F365 finns.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:F365 finns.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU≈talk 18:33, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 21:37, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD Nomination: Ethel McDonald
An editor has nominated the article Ethel McDonald for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ethel McDonald. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Ethel McDonald during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. [edit] Pamela Page
The article Pamela Page has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 17:43, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
She's a local politician and potential candidate. The article didn't assert that she had any notability beyond that, or that she has been the subject of verifiable independent sources. If there are such sources establishing her notability per WP:BIO, feel free to add them to the article and repost. Thanks, NawlinWiki 23:50, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non notable socialists
Please stop creating articles for non notable socialist party members. They are not notable enough for a Wiki article, and there is no evidence or sources to back up. Astrotrain 19:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Please read WP:BIO for guidance on who is notable enough to have an article on Wiki. Being a member of a small politcal party is not enough to be notable. If you continue to create such articles they will be nominated for speedy delete and deleted without discussion. Astrotrain 13:46, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo ssv.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Logo ssv.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] AfD nomination of Catriona Grant
An editor has nominated Catriona Grant, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Catriona grant and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Jayden54Bot 17:17, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Platform (Scottish politics)
The term (in this sense) is entirely unknown in U.S. politics (even on the Left); does it occur among the Sassenach comrades, or is it a purely Scots usage, as I understood it to be? If you could put the information you posted on my talk page into boring, encyclopedic, non-POV terminology, it would be just the sort of thing I am looking for.--Orange Mike 02:11, 9 February 2007 (UTC) (whose father's people were Lowlanders before they went to Norn Irn)
[edit] American keys
Hi there
Noticed your comment: Sorry about that - my computer has decided to go all american on me so instead of a tilde I get a | - but now I have one to copy and paste :) Ms medusa 23:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
It's doing this to me all the time. Two tips I've found:
(a) The key at the top left (marked ¬) turns into a ~ in US (b) There is a box just to the left of the bottom right of your screen marked "EN" where you can shift from US to UK.
Article British and American keyboards is quite useful!
Hope this helps and happy editing AndrewRT(Talk) 20:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Charlie McCarthy (socialist)
Hi there- I was wondering why you removed the prod from this article without an edit summary or stating why on the talk page? Thunderwing 10:59, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD Nomination: Charlie McCarthy (socialist
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Charlie McCarthy (socialist) meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.
Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charlie McCarthy (socialist). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.
Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article.

- Sorry for the rather patronising text on the above template- but please contribute to gain consensus Thunderwing 01:24, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Ssv5.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Ssv5.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Logo ssy.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Logo ssy.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:19, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hill's Trust Primary School
A Proposed Deletion template has been added to the article Hill's Trust Primary School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. B.
