Many miles of the Mississippi beach included beautiful historic homes that one after another lined the beach front and over looked the water of the gulf of mexico. Biloxi was and still is an area of great southern eligance. Many people of great means had and still have primary and secondary residences on the mississippi coast. It proxcemity to New Orleans, seemingly lends its self in culture and life stlye, to The Biloxi greater metro area. Of the thousands of homes destroyed by hurricaine Katrina, there were hundred of pillared templesque homes destroyed in 2005 Hurricaine Katrians path that were on the mississippi coast and the Biloxi metro area.
