mrtobacco, i noticed vandalism over on the page entitled 'doggystyle' from a user you warned earlier. i wanted to tell you about it so you can deal with the situation. thanks, Infraredeclipse 19:47, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Mrtobacco, I am interested in that story at Bambu about the alleged carcinogen scandal, however I can't read Spanish. Did you realize that the link isn't in English? I don't feel that is much appropriate for English Wikipedia, although I suppose it's preferred over no source at all. Also, when I did a Google search, I found no information related to such a scandal involving Smoking in Spain and adding carcinogens to their product. Additionally, I have added a new category to the article. If you feel that "cannabis" and "tobacco" are relevant, please add them to the article rolling papers. Thanks. - GilliamJF 18:52, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry that you no comprende but my wife is Mexican so I've learned quite a bit in the past 25 years!! In terms of confirming the Bambu/Smoking thing I have read 5 articles so far and all say the same thing dude.

And there is a lot more out there too. I think the problem is "Esparto" which causes like "Esparto gas" which is possibly filled with toxins. I've never heard of anyone using Esparto in their paper before. Usually it's flax, hemp, rice, and pulp. Here is something from 1996 in Spain that says Esparto causes problems; http://www.amat.es/convenio/circulares/2003/DICIEMBRE/CIRCULAR%20N%C2%BA%20114-03/Circular%20n%C2%BA%20114-03.pdf

Well, thanks for the further information. What a strange story it is. And the executives at Smoking are facing possible time in prison? I was abroad in Europe and often bought Smoking brand products (extra wide papers) while there. Wow, it's just such a bizzare story. - GilliamJF 22:34, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page protection

Hi Mrtobacco. I removed the {{sprotect}} tag from Rolling papers because the tag is only really used by admins after a page has been protected. Adding the tag before protection is usually counter-productive. If you want to request page protection, either list the page at WP:RPP, or contact an admin such as User:Heah who offered to protect it above. -- zzuuzz (talk) 09:17, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reverted Again

I read your post on the Sprotect and see what you are talking about. I reverted the Vandalism you mentioned back to your original versions. Good Luck ! --66.38.129.154 20:29, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Looking to Trade

Anyone know where I can trade for some more Camel Brand rolling papers? I need the new 2006 style pack for my collection!

[edit] lost society

hiya. well, semi-protection isn't really justified unless it's happening a few times a day. otherwise it's best just to revert him; right now it's like once a week. --heah 18:51, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blunts

That wasn't a quote from me, I was reverting someones deletion of it due to the reasoning they used in the edit summary. If you want to remove it because of a lack of references, please do so. ReverendG 17:51, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Minnesota meetup

A meetup of Wikipedians in Minnesota is proposed: please stop by the discussion page if interested. Jonathunder 22:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Got it! I hope to be there :) --Mrtobacco 14:36, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Great! Just a reminder: Meetup October 29, one o'clock, Mall of America. Jonathunder 16:05, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

(removed some gibberish written in poor English and moved to anonymous poster's page - very strange dude)

[edit] Blocking vandals

I'm afraid the blocking policy requires at least three warnings and then vandalism after a final warning. I can't block somebody who only appears to have edited twice. Sorry. TimVickers 01:03, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Editing the page Camel (cigarette)

I noticed in one of your edit summaries that you say you work for the company that makes these cigarettes. Because of that, I'd like to remind you to be careful to remain completely neutral when editing Camel (cigarette). Remember, Wikipedia is not for advertising, and it should not favor any side. Therefore, it might be a good idea to limit yourself when editing the article and only do things such as copyediting, or at least not make any major changes to the article. Pyrospirit Flames Fire 16:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

I understand and I only wanted to correct some minor points. If you review my edits you will see that they are unbiased, at least in my biased opinion :) --Mrtobacco 00:33, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

(Cleaned up June 14, 2007) dispute

Please stop putting up that info about Miguel Y Costas. It's very prejudicial and I think it's unfair to post that information.

--Joshmann 14:59, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Josh, you really should not be writing on Wiki about any of these items. You are in the industry and I think it is extremely biased for the US Dist of that company to be taking down text or writing anything at all regarding products that your company sells! Be reasonable/realistic. --Mrtobacco 17:12, 13 June 2007 (UTC)  :)

[edit] Your dispute with Onyx86

I have removed both of your requests, as both of you are not obvious vandals. Feel free to discuss it at WP:ANI, in the correct section at the bottom. bibliomaniac15 Join or die! 17:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reply

Hello, thanks for your message here. I don't think I;ve made any attacks on you, but if I did I apologise.

My part in this was to blank the page User:Highway420 and give a strong warning to Highway420 (talk · contribs) against creating attack pages. I also tagged clear rolling papers with {{ActiveDiscuss}}. I also explained my edits to Onyx86 (talk · contribs).

I really don't see where I've attacked you, but again apologies if I did. --h2g2bob (talk) 18:19, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Question for you..

Hello, thanks for your message here. I don't really mind, but it did seem a bit out of place in the article, and fit better into bambu. But copy or move it back if you think it's best. By the way, do you know any other sources for that story - I had a (very) brief glance when I moved it but couldn't spot any. Just wondering what the outcome was (did it go to trial?) Just curiosity more than anything. --h2g2bob (talk) 16:13, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Wow, that's quite a few links! Thanks for filling me in - I'll have to read through them more properly when I have a few minutes to spare. --h2g2bob (talk) 20:44, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hazing

It's hard for me to continue posting on Wiki given that many of my posts are deleted by anti-tobacco / anti-smoking people (see my history of fighting on Tobacco and Tobacco Smoking). I am also constantly being attacked and accused by people who I feel (and sometimes they even admit) work for various tobacco companies and are angry at me for posting information that is either positive about their competitors or negative about their own products. In the most recent case, a person who works for a competitor of a brand I wrote positively about has really gone over an above - going so far as to file a COI complaint against me. This user admits openly that he works for that company. If anyone has any help they can offer in terms of what to do in this scenario please let me know. I'm tired of fighting with these people. I don't think my posts on Tobacco are too "pro-tobacco" and my other posts are not adlike - if you disagree please lmk...

[edit] Speedy deletion

Hi. I noticed the template on the talk page. Unfortunatly the page does not qualify because it is not a template. When I get home today, I'll go thru the talk page and refactor as needed according to talk page guidelines. Is this acceptable to you? Mercury 16:28, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Mandy, the page needed to go, it had profanity in it and was full of paid-for-posts by a sock puppet. He's one of the best sp's I've ever seen but he mistakenly admitted he sells cocaine grinders and crack pipes, then tried to take that back and change the topic. Wierd I know but I'm kind of icked out by the guy and after reading his history I think you'll agree. In classic (funny to say Classic b/c he sp's for a company called Classic) style he accuses others and never answers any of the questions asked, just keeps attacking and attacking and attacking. You and I are not paid to do this, so we have to realize that someone who is paid is going to put a lot more effort and time into attacks and lies then we ever would. It's sad that sp's are here, all we can do is avoid them and remove their posts even when they do their absolute darndest to egg us on. A conversation with a sock puppet such as Onyx86 is like talking to a computer. There is no way to converse because we expel effort while they don't (the more we talk to them, the more they get paid to respond - the only way to stop the cycle is to stop talking to them - which they will then freak out about and do their best to get you talking again or they don't get paid)... so you can darn well bet the sock puppet will really freak out now - don't let him egg you on either :) --Mrtobacco 16:42, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation

From your comments on the mediation page... Are you still wanting mediation? Mercury 12:31, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Nah - there isn't anything to mediate. The actual page he claimed to be upset about was fixed (by me) a while ago. I think it's best to ignore the sock puppet. However I do ask that you allow the archived conversation with the sock puppet to be speedied since there is profanity on the page and many personal attacks. Some of it I don't understand (the puppet's posts) but some of it I do understand - and I think it should all be removed don't you? --Mrtobacco 14:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Archive link

Please do not remove the link to the archive from Talk:RAW (rolling_paper). These links are necessary so that other users can see past discussion that may or may not be relevant to current issues on the article. Metros 20:20, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

sorry it meets Wiki deletion standards, it was an attack by an admitted sock puppet working for a small company that imports illegal merchandise and gets very angry (strange but true), check the history of it.--Put that in your pipe and smoke it 20:29, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ad Text for Smoking Rolling Papers?

IMO the text you put up for Smoking rolling papers is too ad-like and sounds promotional. I have tagged the article as an ad. Please do not remove the tag and use the talk page to discuss. --Nahome 18:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I must be the worst writer on earth, I have been accused of this so many times it's not worth me replying anymore. Edit the page as you wish, I don't want to be involved in the rolling paper brands sub pages at all anymore. Not worth the effort. --Put that in your pipe and smoke it 20:54, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pay pay.gif

Thank you for uploading Image:Pay pay.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy.
