[edit] Population figures for Native Americans

If you're going to make changes to the population figures in the article Native Americans in the United States, please provide a reliable alternative source, instead of merely changing the number. The number currently provided (having reverted your edit) is based on the 2000 U.S. Census, appropriately sourced: you merely changed the number without changing the source, and apparently without reading the footnote which gives the actual figure for "alone or in combination" (your figure was for "alone or in combination" was inaccurate by being too low). I have no argument if there are better figures than the ones provided, but only if they have a reliable source, and that source is cited. It the right numbers need to be discussed, the talk page for the article might be a good place to start. Regards. --Yksin 07:27, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
