[edit] Great sources, David Paterson

I had not been aware of these. The specifics should be weekly in the New York Times in a never-ending series of dismay about the process at the statehouse. -- Yellowdesk (talk) 15:20, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Good job on cleanup of language. Bearian (talk) 00:10, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

The whole Max Roach sub-section is irrelevant to the biography of Paterson. Please do not add it back it. I have merged the content into Max Roach. -- Y not be working? 14:06, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Cool beans on the re-org and daughter articles! In other words, thanks. - Colfer2 (talk) 05:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. A related discussion was here: Talk:David Paterson/Archive_1#High School, whether or not to mention integration in Hempstead in the 1960s - early 1970s. - Colfer2 (talk) 07:44, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Nice work on Electoral history of David Paterson. -- Yellowdesk (talk) 02:24, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Elliot Spitzer

Thank you for your information on primary sources. It was most useful! Eleven Special (talk) 14:27, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Good job cleaning up Spitzer. I was going to do something similar but then I looked at the main article it references, and that one is no better. Thanks for taking the hatchet to the article; it still needs more (as in the next part of the section you already fixed). Isaacsf (talk) 17:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Big thanks for the labors you've undertaken on behalf of the ACW portal today

I was going to do some slapping and banging to fortify the portal against the future, when here I see all this nice stuff you've done while I was at the job. Good choices too. I owe you a beer or something, MrPrada! BusterD (talk) 23:11, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

And because of you I had to add a freakin' star to the military browsebar today. Thanks for your nomination and all the work you put in to get us there. BusterD (talk) 12:23, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lalor photo tagging

Thanks for your comment and assitance but I am still unsure of how to "tag" a photo and what the tag should contain. (I looked at the Paterson image but don't know which is the tag and how to insert it in my photo.) I own the photo and will allow it to be used here. Can you please advise how to tag it so it won't be deleted?--Ana Nim (talk) 14:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rfb participation thanks

Hello, Mr. Prada.

I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 18:28, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 13 May 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Christopher J. Lee, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] AFD for Iraq operations

Thanks. I personally would like to see an article for all of the named ops for Iraq and afghanistan. The way I see it if someone doesn't like to source or the way its written they can always add references and reword it to their liking. I don't understand why this non notible article thing is even an issue.--Kumioko (talk) 12:58, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I wanted to let you know that I left some additional comments on this page Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2008 May 12--Kumioko (talk) 17:20, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFA Thanks

Thanks for your support at my recent Request for adminship. I hope you find I live up to your expectations. Best, Risker (talk) 15:40, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Regarding your latest listing at WP:3O, you might be interested in some stuff I've accumulated here. Tan | 39 15:29, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Battle of Harlem Heights

You requested a Third opinion for a dispute with more than two editors invloved. We could bend the standard a bit, but there are many peole listed in your request. I suggest that you submit a request for informal ediation at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal. The backlog is low an I would take this if someone doesn't accept it quickly. --Kevin Murray (talk) 01:12, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

  • The idea of a Third opinion is to in essense break a deadlock between two editors. With more people involved it seems more reasonable to try MedCab. I can try a 3O first if you like. At WP we Ignore all rules. --Kevin Murray (talk) 01:31, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My Recent Rfa

Although you opposed me in my recent RFA I will still say thanks as from your comments and the other users comments that opposed me I have made a todo list for before my next RFA. I hope I will have resolved all of the issues before then and I hope that you would be able to support me in the future. If you would like to reply to this message or have any more suggestions for me then please message me on my talk page as I will not be checking back here. Thanks again. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 16:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Greasestock

A tag has been placed on Greasestock requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. E8 (talk) 19:48, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Reverted. I have a related question. If all events of this type are linked from pages like Vegetable oil used as fuel or Biodiesel, the "See also" sections will quickly become crowded. Since these events are notable, but peripheral to the aforementioned subjects, should there be a "Alternative fuels events" or "renewable energy events" page that could be used as a common collection point. This collection page could then be added to the "See also" section of Vegetable oil used as fuel, Biodiesel, etc. Your thoughts?--E8 (talk) 20:32, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

    • I think thats a fantastic idea. It could easily become a featured list. MrPrada (talk) 20:33, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Newburgh Mall

Regarding the comment on "super regional" -- that's not a subjective term. It's a term used by the International Council of Shopping Centers for malls that are of a certain size -- 750,000 SF or bigger I think. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:10, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

  • But what was the definition in 1980, when the Newburgh mall was the only shopping center for a major metropolitan area? MrPrada (talk) 18:11, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Greg Ball

I didn't edit Greg Ball until after you started bragging about his so-called "accomplishments" which began on May 20th and earlier. Second, you're the same one that created the same edits on Mr. Degnan's page. Secondly, there was nothing libelous against Greg Ball. Everything is true: he has no accomplishments, no friends in Albany, and he has been endorsed by hate groups. What's wrong with the truth. You should also familiarize yourself with the public figure clause. Finally, using computers paid for at taxpayer expense to do campaign work (which this Wikipedia edit clearly is) is definately against the law. Familiarize yourself with the law as well. Oh, that's right, Ball doesn't believe that the law applies to him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.7.164 (talk) 06:42, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you're referring to when you state that I have been "bragging". The article on Mr. Ball was began long before May 20, as you can see by the article's history. I've edited the article as I would any other article here on Wikipedia. Please familiarize yourself with WP:NPA. I would be happy to discuss any suggested changes you would like to make at Talk:Gregory R. Ball, and Talk:John Degnan, however, Wikipedia is not the place for "Editorial Commentary". For everything that you claim to be true, you need to provide verified sources from reliable publications, and comply with a neutral point of view. As a new editor, I'd be happy to work with you on this towards creating a great article. MrPrada (talk) 07:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

If you never met Greg Ball than why do you talk as if you know him personally. I am also well aware that you created John Degnan's page at the same time as Mr. Balls. Also, if Republicans in Albany are using taxpayer computers to do campaign work (which a Wikipedia edit essentially is, since it has not relation to constituent work), then there seems to be a violation of the law. Since you want to brag about Mr. Ball's accomplishments in such a biased manner, including him "working" in cooperation with Spitzer and fail to explain how he shows up at day laborer sites with video recorder and taunts individuals like a child, then you keep your Ball and I'll fix Mr. Degnan's site to remove the bias attitude you demonstrate there. You inflate Ball's accomplishments all you want and fail to include his failures and the fact that the Southeast Town Republican Committee didn't endorse him and I'll make Mr. Degnan's site more neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.7.164 (talk) 07:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Please remember to sign your posts using four tidles (~~~~).
  • Again, I am not a Republican in Albany. As you can see by my user profile, I am an insurance actuary in New York City. If you would like to verify that I am not an Albany Republican, please feel free to check out Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser, although I do not believe they will grant your request.
  • I am afraid that your assertion I created both articles at the same time is patently incorrect. Please note that my first edit to Greg Ball is dated 6 July 2007. My first edit to John Degnan was on 8 May 2008, over a year later.
  • No, there will be no "You keep Ball and I'll keep Degnan". Have a look at WP:OWN. No one owns an article here. However, I am happy to work with you on both.
  • Finally, you have already accumulated a number of final warnings from various uninvolved editors other than myself for vandalism. Rather than making any further edits at this time, I strongly urge you to suggest them on the article's talk pages. Be sure to include verified sources from reliable publications. MrPrada (talk) 07:41, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Exactly "no one owns" the Wikipedia pages...Therefore, I will edit the John Degnan page and remove the biased and non-factual information which you included, including your sinister attempt to link him to illegal immigrants with the inclusion of a photo of day laborers. That would be more appropriate for the Brewster page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.7.164 (talk) 07:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Characterizing my edits as "sinister" is a personal attack. I think I have been very patient with you up to this point. Obviously, the photo is there to provide context for Mr. Degnan's plan to create a hiring center in Brewster. It certainly can be mentioned in the Brewster, New York article as well. MrPrada (talk) 07:53, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

The Special Barnstar
Although I strongly disagreed with you, your arguments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Enrique Moreno were eloquent, incisive, cogent, and of course stated in a civil manner. For being the exception at the afd's, I would like to plaster your talk page with this barnstar. I do plan on bringing a few of them back to an afd in the future, and I look forward to hashing it out with you again. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 17:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFA Thanks

I just wanted to thank you for your participation in my recent RFA. Your comments must have been a foreshadowing as StatusBot was pwnd by the devs (read: indef blocked) shortly afterwards. Check out my RFA in-depth analysis at User talk:Xenocidic/RFA, I'm seeking community input on a number of issues including the social networking one (though I do feel that a status indicator can be useful for users looking for a "quick answer"). some templated thank spam is below. xenocidic (talk) 23:35, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Old A-class MILHIST review

Per Talk:Gregory R. Ball#MILHIST A-review closed as out of scope, the WPMILHIST tag was removed because at the time the paragraph on military service was incidental. I recently found some military newspaper databases and performed a query and I was able to flesh out his service record in a bit more detail. If you have a chance to take a look, let me know what you think. Thanks. MrPrada (talk) 08:04, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I guess you can go for another A-class review, but you might want to ask for another opinion at WT:MHR. Personally I would be inclined to say no, because it he didn't become a businessman or politician, I don't htink he would be notable solely because of his military achievements. The additions seem to indicate that his commanding officer asked him to organise some fundraisers and outreach events. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hi, FG

Hey, thanks for the comments regarding FG. Although I don't think I've commented on the Epoch Times yet? Anyways, yes I think the COI regarding Falun Gong is quite troubling. I'm trying to input valid criticism since the FG page appears to be 99% positive praises of the organization. I'm not sure if they ones undoing my edits are Falun Gong supporters, but I believe the page requires criticism to balance out the viewpoints.

I'd like to know your opinion. Thanks Intranetusa (talk) 19:08, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
