[edit] Father Martin

I noticed you edited this article. Are you familiar with this individual? I could truly use help improving this article. Thanks for your work. Ursasapien (talk) 10:19, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Father Joseph C. Martin

I don't "know" Father Martin particularly well, but I have met him on at least a half-dozen occasions. I'm on the 25th Anniversary Committee for Father Martin's Ashley, and actively involved in fundraising efforts and planning for their upcoming gala in May '08. As such, I guess you could say I 'have access' to both Father Martin and Mae Abraham. Mrjmcneil (talk) 09:20, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Fantastic! For Wikipedia, we need reliable sources, independent of the subject of the article. Do you know of any biography of Father Martin? Perhaps even some newspaper articles? Thanks for your help with the article. Ursasapien (talk) 02:19, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

There is a biography: "One Step More: The Life and Work of Father Joseph C. Martin." It chronicles his life fairly well. I have a copy somewhere and will try to track it down. Here's a link to a description: http://www.kellyproductions.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=177

And thank you for writing this article and for letting me contribute.

By the way, Do you happen to have (or know of someone who has) a photograph that they could release under a free license? I can not find the photograph that I took when he spoke in Dayton. Generally, the photograph would have to be released by the photographer under a free license to be included. Thanks, Ursasapien (talk) 07:59, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't have a photograph of my own, but I will make that happen next week. I'll put in a call to Leonard Dahl at Ashley on Monday 12/17/07. . . I'm sure he'll put me in touch with the right person. I'll keep you posted on that, and once I have the photo I'll put it up. Mrjmcneil (talk) 08:02, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

I spoke with Ashley's marketing and development director today (12/19/07). I should have a usable photo of Father Martin in the next few days. Mrjmcneil (talk) 09:19, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't understand what description details are missing-- I tagged the image as required when I uploaded it. I received the image from a friend of Martin, with full permission to use it here; which I likewise believe I indicated. Perhaps you can tell me if I'm doing something wrong? Mrjmcneil (talk) 06:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Don't mention it. I'm glad you approve! Mrjmcneil (talk) 08:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Father_Martin_feathered.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Father_Martin_feathered.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:31, 15 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 15:31, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
