MRI cattle (Meuse Rhine Issel) is a breed of cattle that originated in the Netherlands and Germany. It gets its name from the region in which it was bred, where the rivers Meuse, Rhine and Issel meet. MRI cattle were first brought over to the UK in the 1970s.
