[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Vtclogo.jpeg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vtclogo.jpeg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Thank you

Mr. Vinx, thank you for correcting Hanoi Landmark Tower. Hoping that you will help me review Vietnam-related topic articles translated by myself. Once again, thank you and have a nice weekend.Genghiskhanviet 11:13, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Mr. Vinx, wiki needs info verifiable, therefore, do not try to modify information on the number of stories of the Financial Tower in Hochiminh city from 72 to 68 as the final number of stories is different from that of the orignal proposed design. You can see that figure in External link in vi.wikipedia.org (Thanhnien newspaper) here about this change. Genghiskhanviet 10:24, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of BIDV

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on BIDV, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because BIDV seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting BIDV, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Samara.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Samara.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:48, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I don't use an open proxy

What's happening? I'm not using an open proxy but I have been prohibited... Maybe the problem is from our Vietnamese ADSL provider. I can't understand why many ADSL users in Vietnam are considered to be using open proxies!!! -->Mr Vinx 21:48, 06 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Britney piece of me video.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Britney piece of me video.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 14:52, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam

Hello, you are invited to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam, where those of us interested in improving Vietnam-related articles meet to discuss which projects need to be done. Just add your name in the list of Participants, and we'd be glad to have you! Badagnani (talk) 18:50, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question

I have a question. At the Chè article, why did you change "Chè đậu đen" to "Chè đỗ đen"? The sources I looked at had "đậu." Is this an example (like for tea) where northern and southern Vietnamese use two different spellings? Badagnani (talk) 20:28, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Badagnani (talk) 20:29, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

I think we should list both names, and say something like "called Chè đậu đen (in southern Vietnam) or "Chè đỗ đen" (in northern Vietnam). But we should list it alphabetically by the standard name. Is this a traditionally northern or southern food? Whichever one it is, it can be listed under that standard name, then the alternate name can be listed after it. [edit] AfD nomination of List of notable hotels in Hanoi

I have nominated List of notable hotels in Hanoi, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of notable hotels in Hanoi. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Warning If you don't take the photo yourself, do not claim that, it is copyright infringement. The photo here was taken by vi:User:Ngokhong, and he has his rights to publish it under GFDL. You posted it here in en.wikipedia and licensed another license (PD) is a very bad faith action. I can announce to administrators here to block your account because of this. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Lg chocolate.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Lg chocolate.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? (ESkog)(Talk) 23:20, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
